Both formal and informal training at ING are very helpful. As an intern I learned a lot about how working at a corporate office works and even as a graduate engineer I find that I learn new technical skills every so often because communication is so open and everyone likes learning.

Our trainings in the company are as if we are regular employees already. Although the tasks assigned to us are only a small percentage only of what they actually do, I believe that I am still able to truly experience working in the department. There's strong emphasis on mentorship and coaching as I have gone through various job shadowing and reverse shadowing. Working in this department, I enhance my soft skills of attention to details and organization. Additionally, I was also able to learn how to navigate through the platforms that ING uses such as ING Learning Center and Service Now.

The trainings are very important and well structured as we learned alot about our role and its importance for the company and its clients. One of the many things I picked up is the essence of financial crime and I grew more interested in this topic.

Interns are introduced to real-life experience working within a tech team. All interns are treated as equals within the workplace, they are given opportunities to voice out their ideas and opinions and are given materials to help improve their soft and technical skills. I learned to be vocal about my opinions and ideas working in ING.
Graduate, Makati City - 23 Jul 2024
Currently, as part of the Pega Residency Program, ING helped develop the needed skills to work on my role as a Pega Engineer. Aside from this technical training, they also helped me soft skills through various trainings on leadership, agile way of working and cross-cultural awareness. I really learned a lot, mostly revolving around self-awareness wherein I recognize my strengths and weaknesses to adapt and lead whenever possible.
Graduate, Manila City - 22 Jul 2024
There were two weeks for our foundational training where we got to know the basics of our company and its culture. After that, functional training lasted for six weeks and was done in multiple ways like a classroom training, simulations, assessments, and a job shadowing where we shadowed our Orange Professional Partners (OPPas) on how to actually do our job. With thiis job, one must truly be resourceful, collaborative, and analytical.

Some of the trainings I received were pretty good, however, there are definately some areas that have need to improve on. One of the skills I learned was to effectively present. I gained the knowledge and trained my confidence enough for me to deliver my presentation well, as compared to before the training.
