The Story of MediCard

MediCard Philippines, Inc. was established in December 1986, but it was formally inaugurated on May 15, 1987. It was conceptualized by several physicians who observed the need to make healthcare accessible to many Filipinos. There should be more people who can afford routine check-ups and doctors’ clinics.

Therefore, the company initially aimed to provide healthcare coverage to individuals and families in Metro Manila and in key provincial areas. However, in the later development, it also provides healthcare services to SMEs, as well as Filipino-owned and big multinational corporations. Even those who work abroad can now give health protection to their loved ones at home through MediCard Kabayan.

The company has an extensive number of accredited providers nationwide, including the operation of 16 MediCard free-standing clinics. To target more Filipinos, the company also introduced products such as My MediCard, RxER, Health Plus, and Health Check Cards.

Culture & vibe

MediCard has a strong market presence. It strives to establish connections between its HMO card, its partners and doctors nationwide, and MediCard clinics located in key cities to provide high-quality healthcare to Filipinos.

Since its inception, it has always been guided by a service-oriented culture. MediCard is the only HMO founded and managed by doctors, and this distinguishes it from others, alongside providing innovative schemes that cut down the cost of health maintenance without compromising quality.

Their excellent service and very accommodating personnel can be felt right at the moment people step inside their clinic. To achieve this, all of the staff should be professionally trained and uphold their commitment to providing healthcare products and services that will exceed customer expectations. It also continuously innovates and finds effective techniques to fulfill its customer's needs and improve customer experience.
